Hot Topics Roundtable: Full Picture Value … An Internal and External Perspective for Informed Decision-making

The need for a 360-degree stakeholder perspective has become crucial with the rise of long-term hybrid engagement models. In the past, we focused on what was communicated directly to us. Now, with new communication and engagement models, Medical Affairs must stay vigilant to innovate and gain the full picture, which includes key data arising from analytics, advisory boards, the digital domain, and new virtual channels within the scientific exchange among other spaces. Medical Affairs must explore novel approaches to uncover trigger points including what we know, don’t know, and should know.

As Medical Affairs teams seek to operate in a holistic manner and to ensure clarity in the scientific narratives presented, teams should move beyond the traditional stakeholder exchanges. Now, teams must track what thought-leaders, physicians, payers, and patients say about their science and medicines in their absence and recognize the amplification that those messages generate.

This workshop examines prescriptive approaches to uncover actionable insights and the processes that Medical Affairs teams can enact to ensure that insights inform the individual and organization on global to local levels. Key takeaways from this workshop will demonstrate how Medical Affairs can execute with intention and go beyond the “doing” phase of its work, ensuring that the impact of such efforts is leveraged in a laser-focused manner for external efforts and to demonstrate internal value.
