Medical Affairs professionals are uniquely positioned to gain insights on current unmet needs and clinical practice patterns to develop and implement strategies that positively impact HCP education and patient outcomes. There have been several white papers and journal publications discussing the many metrics available to demonstrate the value of MA internally. Three of the MAPS pillars of MA, insights, evidence generation and evidence dissemination are externally focused. And through many initiatives, such as registry studies, educational activities, publications, mentor programs and patient surveys, MA is supporting clinical improvements that improve quality of care and appropriate and effective use of treatments, with the aim of improving patient outcomes. As there are a spectrum of external-influencing activities, this session will review the metrics that assess the leadership and impact of Medical Affairs, from Share of Scientific Voice, to improved adherence to guidelines, through to patient outcomes.
