Hot Topics Roundtable: Leveraging Virtual Reality to Support Education and Outreach

In this session, speakers from AbbVie and Tipping Point Media (TPM) discuss the case study of AbbVie’s Immunology VR Suite and Virtual Reality (VR) Escape Room. The Immunology Suite is a VR experience dedicated to engaging healthcare providers (HCPs) and creating disease awareness around the patient journey in Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA), Psoriatic Arthritis (PsA), and Uveitis. The VR Escape Room is a training tool launched to AbbVie’s team of 26 Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs) across the US and was one of many components designed to prepare the MSLs for the virtual launch of several new product indications. Combined, these two tools have been key pieces of AbbVie’s Medical Affairs efforts over the last three years.

During this time, the speakers will also reflect on the 2020 pandemic and how AbbVie was able to continue leveraging TPM’s groundbreaking software to train MSLs and continue communicating with HCPs virtually. The session is meant to give audiences a first-hand account of the huge strides that can be made when companies invest in creativity and innovation and build towards the future instead of focusing on the ‘now’.
