The rapid rise of medical analytics reflects the value this discipline has demonstrated to multiple stakeholders, and the importance of the assimilation, evaluation, and interpretation of data as aligned with organizational and scientific imperatives. The ability to identify actionable insights that drive outcomes has more recently been shown to have a wider utility across all aspects of the Medical Affairs continuum. This workshop will explore the application of medical analytics within Global Medical Affairs, from insight generation in a field-based medical setting to the development and alignment of key performance indicators and establishment of departmental-level strategic plans. It will offer the participant the ability to view medical analytics through a common framework, apply this approach to their responsibilities, and identify needs and challenges they might encounter along the way. Participants will identify a functional or therapeutic challenge and progress it through stages of consideration as the session evolves. Through the presentation and discussion of case studies, workshop facilitators will describe key features of each example that align with the discussed framework. Facilitators are all experienced executives in the field and will work with attendees to apply their expertise in a pragmatic, theory-informed manner.
